BRIGANDINE ABYSS is a single-player tactical RPG developed by Adglobe and published by Happinet in Japan and NIS America in the West. It released on August 26, 2026 for PC and August 27, 2026 for consoles. The war is set on the continent of Meltitea. When this wiki talks about factions, it means the nations you can command: six Story Mode campaigns, and a Mission Mode roster of twenty-four nations that already includes those six.

Story Mode nations

Story Mode is the narrative path. You pick one nation and play its campaign to the end. The only Story Mode factions are Gran Dragnica, Scarlet Will, the Queendom of Mysteine, Purifanoe, the Samura Clan, and Pandemyuon. Each has a named protagonist, a home region, and a reason to oppose Abyssloa, the empire declared after the advisor Chaossolus kills the king of Solginat and steals the Brigandine.

The Faction Overview is the short roster of those six leaders and lands. The Story Campaigns page covers the shared plot, automatic story recruits, and Event Battles. In Story Mode some nations cannot be invaded until an Event Battle fires. Event Battles can pull squads from anywhere on the map. Fail one and that campaign is over.

Game8 estimates about thirty hours for a single campaign. All six together run past one hundred hours. All six campaigns are available from the start. You do not unlock Story Mode nations by finishing another story.

Mission Mode is not a second continent

Mission Mode is a separate sandbox with twenty-four nations, unique win conditions, and, typically, ninety-nine seasons. The six Story Mode nations sit inside that twenty-four. Adding six plus twenty-four and calling it thirty unique countries is a common mistake. Read Mission Mode for official names such as Abyssloa, Ergennacht, Ragnelritter, Leshanna, Thousand Cane, the Shugen Clan, Banlienshen, Alkis Sky Caravan, Ebony Fang, Noble Enhance, Kuklock, the Delzia Clan, Kelmoon, Centuria, Luon Hearts, Glaudi, Akasha, Talentis, and Brigand.

Win conditions in Mission Mode are not all “paint the map.” Reviews describe full map control, raising specific bases, selling items, paying seasonal debt, collecting every monster species, class or character restrictions, twenty-season world conquest, and Event Battle sequences.

How to choose

There is no objective S-tier faction that wins every scenario. Story Mode is a story first. Mission Mode difficulty swings with the win condition, not with a power ranking. For a first Story Mode run, the Best Faction guide recommends Gran Dragnica or Scarlet Will, the two demo nations with clearer onboarding. Mysteine fits players who want the continent-watch fantasy. Pandemyuon is the chimera campaign.

New commanders should also read How to Play and Game Modes before locking a save. The Campaign Walkthrough covers early seasons. Rally explains hex combat once armies meet. The Faction Tier List is a companion ranking page, not a substitute for Story Mode’s narrative design. Classes and Monsters shape every army you field. Our review places the faction split in the wider launch picture.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to common questions about BRIGANDINE ABYSS.

Are six Story Mode campaigns plus twenty-four Mission Mode nations thirty unique countries?

No. Mission Mode's twenty-four nations already include the six Story Mode nations. You are looking at twenty-four playable nations in Mission Mode, not thirty unique ones.

Are all six Story Mode campaigns available from the start?

Yes. Gran Dragnica, Scarlet Will, Mysteine, Purifanoe, the Samura Clan, and Pandemyuon are all selectable when you start Story Mode. You do not unlock them by finishing another campaign.

Is BRIGANDINE ABYSS multiplayer?

No. The game is single-player. Story Mode and Mission Mode are both offline campaigns against the map, not online faction wars.

Which Story Mode nation should I play first?

Gran Dragnica or Scarlet Will. Both appear in the demo and have clearer tutorials. Mysteine suits the continent-guardian fantasy. Pandemyuon is the unusual chimera story. There is no S-tier nation that wins every map.
