BRIGANDINE ABYSS System Requirements
Steam minimum and recommended specs, Steam Deck profile, and console frame-rate targets — straight from the store page.
BRIGANDINE ABYSS runs on PC, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The Steam build is the only SKU that publishes a hardware spec sheet, and that sheet is what you see below. Console targets are simpler and platform-fixed: Switch 2 ships at a locked 30 frames per second, while PS5 and Xbox Series X|S run the same campaign with full controller support. There is no macOS or Linux build. The PC version 1.01 quality-of-life additions and the launch-week performance complaints are covered on PC Settings and Performance, not here.
This page is for buyers who have not yet committed to a platform, and for anyone whose PC is hovering near the minimum line. Use it before you buy, not after. For demo timing, see Release Info. For input options, see Controls. For how the game plays once it runs, see How to Play.
Steam minimum specs (Windows 11, 64-bit)
The Steam store page lists the following minimum configuration. It is the bar the developer expects retail to run on, not the bar reviewers used. Reviewer rigs were higher than this and still saw uneven performance on UE5 hex maps.
- OS: Windows 11 (64-bit)
- Processor: Intel Core i5-4670 (quad-core), 3.40 GHz or higher
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (VRAM 4 GB) or higher
- DirectX: Version 12
- Storage: 16 GB available space
The GTX 1060 is the floor most PC players will recognize. If your machine has an equivalent AMD card — an RX 580 or later — the spec line still holds. 16 GB of system RAM is the more binding constraint; budget laptops at 8 GB will be told to upgrade before launch.
Steam recommended specs
Recommended spec targets stable performance on the world map and on three-squad hex battles. It also gives headroom for the 144 fps cap.
- OS: Windows 11 (64-bit)
- Processor: Intel Core i5-7600 (quad-core), 3.50 GHz or higher
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 (VRAM 6 GB) or higher
- DirectX: Version 12
- Storage: 16 GB available space
A 16 GB RAM figure on both minimum and recommended means the engine is not RAM-bound past 16 GB; the bottleneck on weaker hardware is GPU and CPU. The RTX 2060 line is six years old at launch and most modern mid-range cards clear it. If you are above this line, your real-world ceiling is the frame-rate cap and your monitor, not the spec sheet.
Steam Deck: Playable
SteamDB rates BRIGANDINE ABYSS as Playable on Steam Deck. The summary says the game runs on SteamOS but requires manual configuration of graphics settings to perform well, and that all functionality is accessible with the default controller configuration. In-game text is legible on the Deck’s 7-inch screen.
The practical Deck profile is:
- Frame-rate cap: 30
- V-Sync: on
- Unit size: Small
- Unit color coding: on
- Proton runtime:
proton-11.0-betaif you boot into a black screen on older Proton
This is what the Steam Deck verification profile returns and what reviewers who ran the game on Deck confirm. Do not assume Deck will auto-cap at 30 from the SteamOS profile; the option still needs to be set in the game’s own menu. The full launch-week settings list is on PC Settings and Performance.
Console targets
There is no PC-style spec list for console. What console players actually get is the platform target, set by the developer and the platform holder:
- Nintendo Switch 2: locked at 30 frames per second by design. Not a day-one bug; the war systems and the hex battles run at the same cadence as PC’s 30 cap. If you dock a Switch 2 and expect 60 fps, you will be disappointed. Plan for a steadier, slower camera.
- PlayStation 5: full controller support, target frame rate consistent with mid-range PC at recommended specs.
- Xbox Series X|S: full controller support, same target. Note that Xbox is digital-only — there is no physical disc SKU at launch.
The Controls page lists what the controller layouts are and what platform-only options exist. The Release Info page covers launch dates, languages, and the demo. The Editions page covers Game Key Card, physical disc, and the Deluxe bundle.
What this page will not invent
There is no public per-GPU benchmark spreadsheet. There is no promised launch-day driver update that flips performance on a specific RTX 30-series card. There is no macOS build and no Linux native build; Steam Deck and Linux use Proton. If a forum thread tells you to set an undocumented .ini flag for a 47 percent frame-rate boost, treat it as fan rumour until a publisher note ships.
The Steam store page is the source for the spec list above. SteamDB’s Steam Deck verification page is the source for the Deck rating. Everything else on this page is in the public options menu or the Steam client. If a real patch lands, it will be a dated heading on Updates.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to common questions about BRIGANDINE ABYSS.
What are the BRIGANDINE ABYSS minimum PC specs?
Windows 11 (64-bit), Intel Core i5-4670 (quad-core) 3.40 GHz or higher, 16 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 with 4 GB VRAM or higher, DirectX 12, 16 GB storage. AMD equivalents on GPU (RX 580 or later) are accepted.
What are the recommended PC specs?
Windows 11 (64-bit), Intel Core i5-7600 (quad-core) 3.50 GHz or higher, 16 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 with 6 GB VRAM or higher, DirectX 12, 16 GB storage. The frame-rate ceiling after this line is your monitor and the in-game cap, not the spec.
Does BRIGANDINE ABYSS run on Steam Deck?
Yes — SteamDB rates it Playable. You will need to set the frame-rate cap to 30, switch unit size to Small, turn unit color coding on, and may need to switch Proton to 11 beta if the game boots into a black screen.
What frame rate does Switch 2 run at?
Nintendo Switch 2 is locked at 30 fps by design. PS5 and Xbox Series X|S run the same campaign with full controller support. There is no platform that runs the war above 60 fps on console.
Is there a macOS or Linux build?
No native builds. Steam Deck and Linux rely on Proton. The recommended Proton runtime is 11 beta if you hit a launch issue.
