The six Story Mode protagonists
Largo — Gran Dragnica. Dragon tamer. Largo fights to free dragons that the Abyssloa Empire has brainwashed. The campaign is about reclaiming the army identity that the empire violated. Largo is one of two demo factions and the most-documented opening in the game.
Garnet — Scarlet Will. Justice mercenary company leader on the southwestern grasslands. Garnet becomes leader after her father is killed in the opening. The campaign is about building a company strong enough to answer the empire without the safety net that kingdom guards take for granted. Garnet is the other demo faction.
Zeilzarde — Queendom of Mysteine. Queen’s Guardian. The small realm was founded by Lunadea, the sorcerer who forged the Brigandine. Zeilzarde’s duty is watching the continent, which means watching Chaossolus after he steals the stone. Continent-watch is the fantasy; defending a small nation surrounded by a collapsing order is the gameplay.
Alicebelle (also Alysbelle) — Purifanoe. Leader of a hidden fairy village in a great forest where time flows slowly inside. Steam achievements use both spellings. The campaign is about leading a small, isolated community through a war the village’s geography cannot shield it from.
Saya — Samura Clan. Warrior culture in eastern Mihashira. Isolated island tribe. The Shugen Clan — ninja and onmyoji rivals — appear as a separate Mission Mode nation, not as Saya’s Story Mode opponent. Playing Saya does not play Shugen.
TYPE-F — Pandemyuon. Chimera-created boy who defects after meeting a sacred maiden. The research programme is secret and tied to Chaossolus. The campaign is the unusual story of a created being walking away from the laboratory that made him.
Key officers and named characters
Gran Dragnica officers: Weiss, Lori, and the dragon knights who form Largo’s core retinue. The dragon identity is the army’s structural trait, not a cosmetic label.
Scarlet Will officers: Jadeite and Trisha are named officers in Garnet’s company alongside the unicorn retinue. Mercenaries are the economic backbone; named officers are the level-carrying core.
Mysteine officers: Mysfaene and Cresct are confirmed officers in Zeilzarde’s queendom. The small nation’s roster is smaller than Gran Dragnica’s but plays a different strategic role.
Chaossolus — the central antagonist. Advisor to Solginat. Kills the king, steals the Brigandine, declares the Abyssloa Empire. Every Story Mode campaign is a different nation’s answer to this act. Chaossolus also appears as a playable Mission Mode nation — you can sit in the imperial chair without playing a seventh Story Mode campaign.
